  1. According to scripture, who is immune from temptation?  Explain why.
  2. Temptation in itself is not sin.  At what point does temptation become sin?
  3. How does scripture help you identify temptations before they give birth to sin?
  4. Using the graph “Slippery Slope of Sin” depicted in James 1:14-15, and on page 30 of your book, write a brief summary on how David’s temptation turned into sin and later brought forth death.
  5. In verse 18, James uses the phrase, “brought us forth by the word of truth”.   Write a brief summary regarding this phrase as to what James is referring to.  How does it relate to verse 17?  
  6. James teaches believers three methods on how they ought to respond in time of crisis.  What are those methods?  Write a brief summary on how each method benefits your spiritual growth.
  7. In verse 22, James commands believers to live what type of lifestyle?  Why is this lifestyle crucial to a believer?
  8. If Christianity is a relationship and not a religion, why does James stress the importance of one’s religion?
