It’s Time To Move

“And thus you shall eat it: with a belt on your waist, your sandals on your feet, and your staff in your hand. And you shall eat it in haste. It is the Lord’s Passover.” Exodus 12:11 (NKJV)

God told the Israelites to eat the Passover meal fully dressed for travel, with their robes tucked up, shoes on their feet, and staff in their hand. Why? Because when God moves, He often moves suddenly. You will not have time to go searching for your shoes or digging your staff out of the garage. He wanted them to be dressed for deliverance, ready to leave bondage behind at a moment’s notice.

This same instruction appears again in Acts 12 when Peter was in prison. An angel told him, “Gird yourself. Put on your sandals. Wrap your garment around you and follow me.” God was about to set Peter free, and he had to be ready to move.

You may have been in the same place for so long that you stopped expecting change. Maybe you have prayed for years, and nothing seemed to shift. It can be easy to settle in and stop looking for God’s sudden breakthrough. But God is telling you today to get your shoes on. Pull up your robe. Get your staff in your hand. Expect movement.

The Lord is not just calling you to eat the meal of remembrance. He is calling you to prepare for the journey that comes after. The Israelites were moving from slavery to freedom, from oppression to promise. You may be moving from sickness to health, from debt to provision, from brokenness to restoration. When God says, “Let’s go,” do not be caught off guard.

Do not be so comfortable in your current scene that you miss the new one He is ready to write. Something is shifting.

The scenery in your life is about to change. There is an address change in the Spirit. Egypt is not your forever home. So, stand up, tighten your belt, slip on your shoes, and grip your staff. Get your heart positioned for God’s move. You are about to walk out of chains and into the freedom He promised.

Prayer: Lord, I thank you that you are a God who moves suddenly and powerfully. Help me to live ready for your direction. Prepare my heart and mind for change, and let me not grow too comfortable where I am. I trust you to lead me into freedom, blessing, and the new season you have prepared. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
