Urgent Prayer Needed for Haiti

UPDATE: The gangs are getting closer to our partners in Haiti, and they are evacuating. Please pray for their safety as they exit the country.

The situation in Haiti is dire. A violent gang, the 400 Mawozo, has taken control of the police station in Ganthier, burning it down and threatening further violence.

The military's efforts to reclaim the area have been unsuccessful, and the gang leader has made chilling threats against nearby communities.

With imminent danger and no external support yet, we urgently need prayers for safety and peace. Read the update from our ministry partners below.

I found out some important information from a big security meeting today. Someone came by our office and shared with us after the meeting. The 400 Mawozo has been in control of the police station, which they burned during their attack on Sunday at 2 AM. The 400 Mawozo is in control of Ganthier. The military (about 12 members) did go yesterday to Ganthier to fight the 400 Mawozo. They did not take the police station back. They did hide in the area, watching all their movement.

The head of the 400 Mawozo, “Lamo Sanjou,” which means “Death Without Days,” stood by the burnt-out police station yesterday, saying he took over Ganthier and now will take Fond Parisien, and blood will run down the streets. Something big will happen tonight, but I can not say what it is. Everyone pray. I can’t go into it, but there is a lot of corruption behind the scenes.

We are in extreme danger. We are facing life and death. Within two days, we may be attacked here at Love A Child.

Please, anyone reading this, we need more police, military, Kenyans, and armored vehicles here to help the military fight. No Kenyans have come to help us. No help has come! Unbelievable, yet I know why. I can’t tell you right now.

This is an emergency! We need your urgent prayers. ASAP!

Yet I believe the Lord will watch over us and protect everyone here.
