So Much More than Mud Cookies and Salt Water Soup

Hello Pastor Jentezen and all of your Connection Partners,

We are here at our Children's Home and just received another blessing from you and your Kingdom Connection partners of $10,000 for food! Thank you with all our hearts!!!

Yesterday, we were in the villages of New Letant and Old Letant distributing food. The families were so happy because this little country of Haiti, with all its poor, is upside down with many problems. It has political problems with gangs on the streets, and a lot of violence. This has affected the poor in many ways. What little bit of food they can grow in their dry gardens with poor soil, they cannot even get to the marketplaces to sell right now. There is nothing on the news about Haiti's voice and the poor, but if you check the internet you will see the problems.

The poor, especially the children, are suffering now more than ever before. We are seeing more malnourished babies in our new Malnutrition Clinic than we ever expected. We have only been open for about six weeks, and already have cared for many in-patient and out-patient babies, and will continue to have more due to the lack of food.

The Story of Nanise AS you know, we also share the food you give us, with others who feed children. This is little Nanise. She is now seven years old. She is from a clinic about three hours from us who receive food from the Kingdom Connection Distribution Center. Her parents have to ride a mule to take her to the clinic. Her parents are so very poor. They have a small garden that is hardly growing anything.

When this happens in Haiti, parents will often feed their children “mud cookies” just to keep them from feeling the pains of hunger. Sometimes, they make “salt water soup,” which is any type of leaves that grow wild, added to hot water with some salt. Hunger brings pain and sickness.

Nanise has had siblings who died from malnutrition. The first photo above is from her second time to the same malnutrition clinic. She was unable to keep any food or liquids in her stomach. She was treated, and then they put her on the special Feed My Starving Children food that you sponsor each month. She has two living siblings at home, along with her mother and father. This poor family is thankful for the food you send each month. It is literally saving their lives. This is Nanice today!

God bless you, Pastor Jentezen, and your whole Kingdom Connection Family.

Give Today

In Haiti, nearly one-third of all children under the age of five suffer from stunted growth. And more than 100,000 children suffer from acute malnutrition. They are dying of hunger. This is why, for over a decade, Jentezen Franklin Media Ministries has sponsored 272,000 meals each month to feed Haiti’s poorest. You can be part of this life-saving outreach!
