Better Is Coming (Part 3)
“Buy the truth, and do not sell it…” Proverbs 23:23
Many people today are selling out on the foundational beliefs found in God’s Word. They are compromising the integrity of the Ten Commandments and the belief that Jesus is the only name by which men can be saved. Instead of standing on the truth, people are buying into things that contradict the word of God. Stay committed to the principles of the Bible. Don’t sell out on truth. Stand on truth.
There is a big difference between leasing land and buying land. Buying is a concrete commitment to a contract that you will be taking ownership of that property. That is why it’s so important to buy into the right things. Don’t buy into a defeatist mindset that tells you the world is so evil that you may as well give in and give up. When people in the Bible experienced difficult circumstances, God didn’t tell them to quit living. He told them to thrive!
God said this to those who were exiled from Jerusalem to Babylon: “Build houses and settle down; plant gardens and eat what they produce. Marry and have sons and daughters; find wives for your sons and give them in marriage, so they too may have sons and daughters. Increase in number there; do not decrease. Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city where I have carried you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it because if it prospers, you too will prosper.” (Jeremiah 29:4-7)
Babylon represents the world we are living in today. But we’re headed to New Jerusalem! God wants you to impact your nation and community right where you are. If you don’t like the state of your school system, get on the school board and help make changes. Build and dream. Be productive, prosper, and be an influence in your city. Show those around you a better way to live life and raise a family. Be a light in a dark place. You are the salt of the earth and can make the world around you better.
