Standing With God’s Covenant People

“For you are a holy people to the Lord your God. The Lord your God has chosen you to be a people for His treasured possession.” Deuteronomy 7:6 (ESV)

You need to understand why standing with Israel is more than a political opinion. It’s a biblical conviction. When you develop a biblical worldview, you begin to see Israel the way God sees it. Deuteronomy 7:6 isn’t just ancient history. It’s a picture of how God chooses people, not because they’re strong or numerous, but because He loves them. And that includes you.

God called Israel His “special treasure.” That’s not a throwaway phrase. That’s how He talks about His covenant people. And when you were born again through the blood of Jesus, you were grafted into that blessing. You are part of God’s covenant. Just like Israel, you’re chosen.

You’re not chosen because of your achievements or qualifications. You’re chosen because of His love.

Maybe you feel overlooked. Maybe you’ve been through seasons of pain, family crisis, or confusion. That doesn’t disqualify you. In fact, it’s often proof that you’ve been chosen. Every person God ever called walked through hardship. And just like Israel has been attacked and surrounded again and again, you may feel the same. But Israel is still standing because God is still defending. And so are you.

God has placed His protection over Israel in a special way. In Daniel, He assigned the archangel Michael to defend the nation. Jeremiah 31 says the only way Israel could ever be destroyed is if someone could destroy the sun, moon, and stars. In other words, it’s impossible. God keeps His promises, and His hand is still on Israel today.

And just like God protects Israel, He protects you. The same God who watches over Jerusalem is watching over your life. He says in Psalm 121 that He neither slumbers nor sleeps. That means no weapon formed against you will prosper - not fear, not sickness, not lies, not attacks. You may be in a battle, but you are not alone.

So lift up your head. You are chosen. You are part of God’s plan. And when you bless what He blesses and when you honor His covenant with Israel, you open your life to His favor. Stand firm. Stand faithful and know that you are not forgotten. You are protected, treasured, and chosen.
