Standing With God’s Covenant People (Part 2)

“Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: ‘May those who love you be secure.’” Psalm 122:6 (NIV)

You need to understand how special Israel is - not just the people, but the land itself. God chose a sacred place for His people, a place rich in history, miracles, and divine purpose. If you ever get the chance to visit the Holy Land, you’ll feel something powerful. Standing on the shores of the Sea of Galilee, you can almost see Jesus walking on the water. Visiting Caiaphas’ house, you walk the very steps Jesus took when He was beaten and condemned. You remember the upper room where He shared His last meal with His disciples. Every stone, every hill carries a story of God’s unfolding plan.

God promised Abraham, “I will bless those who bless you.” That promise means when you pray for Israel, stand with Israel, and defend Israel, you’re aligning yourself with God’s plan.

This doesn’t mean you don’t love or pray for other nations also, but it does mean you recognize the unique role Israel has in God’s story and His redemptive work.

We are living in unusual times. The world is changing fast, and Jesus’ return is closer than ever. Jesus told a story about ten bridesmaids waiting for the bridegroom. Half were ready, half were not. Many today know Jesus is coming but aren’t ready. You can’t afford to be spiritually asleep. The call is urgent.

You need to examine your heart, repent, and draw close to God. This is no time to be lukewarm or distracted.

It’s time to keep your spiritual lamp filled with oil, stay alert, and be prepared.

Remember, the same hill where Abraham almost sacrificed Isaac is the very hill where Jesus was crucified. God’s promises and His plan unfold in that sacred land. It is holy, chosen, and protected by God Himself. So today, be reminded: God calls you to stand with His chosen people and their land. Be faithful, be ready, and keep your eyes on Jesus. The time of His return is near!

Pray this prayer today. “Father God, thank you for your faithfulness and for the promises you have made throughout history. Thank you for the land and people of Israel, chosen by you for your divine purpose. Help me to stand with your plan, to pray faithfully for peace and protection over Jerusalem and all your people. Open my heart to be ready, to keep my lamp burning bright, and to live in a way that honors you every day. Strengthen my faith as I wait expectantly for Jesus’ return. Keep me alert, focused, and full of your Spirit. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
