What You See Is What You Get
“…No good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly.” Psalms 84:11
God’s Word gives us a divine blueprint for fulfilling the vision He has placed within us. Habakkuk 2:2-3 says, “Write the vision and make it plain on tablets, that he may run who reads it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time; but at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; because it will surely come…” In other words, you get what you see. Vision is the ability to see a day you haven’t yet walked into. It’s catching a glimpse of the future God has prepared for you and believing it will happen before you ever step foot in it.
You can have a vision from God and still never see it come to pass if you don’t see it for yourself. You have to visualize your future. You have to get a mental image of yourself healed and whole. Picture yourself free from addiction. See yourself joyful and thriving in a godly marriage. Envision your children walking boldly in the ways of Jesus. Keep walking by faith even when your current situation isn’t lining up with His promises.
Fix your eyes on what God has spoken, not what your natural eyes are showing you.
There will always be obstacles, but you cannot allow your present circumstances to talk you out of your dream. You won’t always have perfect conditions. You may not have every resource in hand. But that’s never been a problem for God. Ephesians 3:20 reminds us that God is able to do exceedingly, abundantly above all that we ask or think. So why do we limit Him? Why do we shrink our dreams to fit our insecurities? Dream big. Ask boldly. Imagine wildly. Because nothing is beyond the reach of God.
Think about it. Our brains have over six million cells that we don't even use. Why would God design us with such vast capacity if He didn’t intend for us to think higher, believe deeper, and dream bigger? Sometimes, it’s not our circumstances that limit us. It’s our small view of God. It’s our underdeveloped faith. A close friend and great visionary, Mark Pentecost, says, “Faith is like a muscle. The more you use it, the more you’re not afraid to use it.” So stretch yourself and let your faith rise to meet the vision God has placed in your heart.
