Shake It Off

"For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind." 2 Timothy 1:7 (NKJV)

You were never meant to live under the weight of rejection. But too often, fear convinces you that being accepted by people is more important than being confident in the God who called you. Rejection stings, but it should never define you. It is part of life. In fact, even Jesus prepared His disciples for it. He told them that if people rejected their message, they were to shake the dust off their feet and move on. He did not say to cry about it, obsess over it, or let it shrink their faith. He said to let it go.

If you are not careful, the fear of rejection will make you a smaller version of who God created you to be. You will begin filtering your decisions through the fear of what others might think. You will hold back your gifts, your voice, even your obedience, because you are afraid someone will disapprove. But that is not the life of power God promised.

God has not given you a spirit of fear.

That fear you feel, that dread that follows you, that foreboding voice that says something bad is coming, is not from Him. What God gives is power, love, and a sound mind. He gives peace. He gives clarity. He gives confidence rooted in truth.

So what do you do when rejection comes? You shake it off. You remember that God has already approved you. You do not have to be liked by everyone to be used by God. Some people will misunderstand you. Some will judge you. But they cannot cancel what God has ordained. Lift your head. Walk in the authority He gave you. If someone walks out, let them go. If you feel overlooked, remember you are seen by Heaven. Something good is not just coming to you. Something good is coming through you. That is the promise of Romans 8:28, and that is the power of the Spirit living within you.

Let this be your declaration today: Something good is going to happen to me, and something good is going to happen through me. I will not live in fear. I will walk in boldness, because I belong to God.
