Prayer Connections

“Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

There are some connections that will only come through prayer. In Acts 9, Paul was traveling through Damascus when a light shone around him and he heard Jesus’ voice for the first time. He began talking to Jesus and got radically changed. Three days later, as Paul was praying God showed him in a vision that a man named Ananias would come pray for him and restore his sight.

Meanwhile at the same time, Ananias was having a time of prayer and God commanded him to go find Paul and pray for healing over his eyes. This connection would never have happened had not Paul and Ananias been praying. Could it be that there are other “Pauls” all around us that are just waiting? You could be the answer to someone’s prayer.

When Cornelius prayed, his prayers were waiting for someone else’s prayers. If Peter had not prayed and received the instruction from God to receive a non-Jew into his home, he and his family may have never found Jesus.

The arrival of the Savior of the world was the most significant event in history. Ironically many did not recognize Jesus for who He really was. But there was one who recognized Him immediately. There was a very old widow prophetess named Anna who had stayed in the temple praying and fasting day and night. Because of her close relationship with God, the minute Mary walked up with the baby Jesus, Anna began praising God and telling everyone that the Savior had finally arrived. What great thing could we be missing because we are not in prayer and communion with God?

There are God connections in this life that we will only discover by being in prayer. Don’t miss out on anything that God has for you! Get in your prayer closet today!
