Family Circus (Part Two)

"Cornelius, your prayers and your alms have come up for a memorial before God." Acts 10:4 (NKJV)

I want to encourage you today with a powerful truth from Acts chapter 10. There’s a man named Cornelius who prayed for his family day after day, faithfully lifting up his wife and children before God. And here’s what struck me: God remembered every prayer Cornelius prayed—it was like a memorial rising before Him.

Maybe you feel like your prayers for your family aren’t working. Maybe you’ve prayed and prayed and don’t see answers. But God’s not ignoring your prayers. They are being stored up in heaven, one on top of the other. Every name you call out, every tear you shed, every plea you lift up—God remembers.

Now, your family is precious, but it can also be chaotic. It can feel like a circus. And just like a circus has lions running around, there are scary things in your home. There are real dangers that want to devour your marriage, your kids, and your peace. Lions of temptation, distraction, and division lurk in the form of technology, stress, and the world’s lies.

Think about your smartphone. It’s amazing technology—more powerful than the computers used in the Apollo moon missions. But with that power come dangers. The internet can be a jungle full of lions waiting to break loose and wreak havoc in your family’s life. Pornography, secrecy, and addiction can creep in like predators if you aren’t careful.

So, what do you do? You become the lion tamer. You keep a whip in your hand—not literally, but the whip of accountability, prayer, transparency, and boundaries. You guard your home and your heart fiercely. Trust is key. Trust means no secrets. You’re accountable to your spouse. You let them look, ask, and hold you responsible.

Remember, you’re not fighting alone. Every prayer you pray is a memorial in heaven. God is watching over your family.

Keep praying. Keep protecting. And keep taming those lions. Pray “Lord, help me be a faithful prayer warrior for my family. Give me wisdom and strength to protect my home from the lions that want to destroy it. Help me to be transparent and trustworthy, and to lead my family in your way. Amen.”
