The Star That Guides
“And they said, ‘Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the east and have come to worship Him.’” Matthew 2:2
This Christmas, I want you to see yourself in the story of the wise men. They followed a star until it led them to Jesus. That star wasn’t just a decoration in the heavens. It was a guide carefully placed by God to point seekers straight to the Savior.
The same is true for you. God has placed “stars” in your life—people who reflect His light. Maybe it was a godly parent, a praying grandparent, a Sunday school teacher, a pastor, or even a friend who kept showing you the love of Christ. These stars didn’t shine by accident. They were close to the Son, and because of that, His light shone through them, leading you closer to Him.
You didn’t notice it at the time, but the trajectory of your life began to change because of their faith, care, and prayerful example. Just like the wise men, you were guided, step by step, to the place where you could kneel and worship the King. That is God’s way of showing you that none of this happens by chance. You are not lost, and you are not alone.
Now, think about your own life.
God wants to use you as a guiding star for someone else.
He wants you to be a light shining so bright that a seeker, a wanderer, a lost soul can find Jesus because of you. Your words, love, faith, and prayers can guide someone to the Savior. You may not realize it, but your life can be a travel guide, pointing the way to hope, forgiveness, and peace.
This Christmas, remember that the brightest lights in your life are often reflections of the Son. And you, too, can reflect that light. Let your life guide someone to worship the King of kings.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank You for being the light that guided me to You. Help me shine Your light for others this Christmas. Use my life as a star that points seekers to Your love, Your hope, and Your salvation. May my heart be full of Your light, and may others find You through me. Amen.
