Ministers Of Reconciliation

“Most important of all, continue to show deep love for each other, for love covers a multitude of sins.” 1 Peter 4:8

Conflict, disappointment, and hurt are almost unavoidable in any type of relationship. Someone is going to eventually offend or hurt you, and in those moments, you are going to have to learn to love like you’ve never been hurt. So many families have grown so far apart that they no longer speak to each other because of a hurt that happened years ago. But according to the word of God, it is your responsibility to reconcile. You are called to be a minister of reconciliation.

“Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation…” 2 Corinthians 5:18. God’s grace and mercy took the first step to reconcile you back to Him, and He calls you to do the same for others.

You are called to love the unlovable and forgive the unthinkable. Never stop loving because love never fails.

You may have adult children who have rebelled against God, and you do not know how to handle that situation. Your first response may be to cut off all ties with them but remember, they will always be your children. Just as God loved you in your worst moments, He wants you to show your child that same type of love. You loved them when they were precious and innocent, and now that the enemy is trying to destroy their lives, they need you more than ever. They need your love and forgiveness instead of your bitterness or condemnation.

A great minister once said, “God had two children in His family. They lived and were raised in a perfect environment, the Garden of Eden. Their names were Adam and Eve. Yet when they backslid, God didn’t give up and quit loving them.” You don’t just quit being someone’s father, mother, sister, or brother just because you don’t like how they live. Love covers a multitude of sins, so be a minister of reconciliation.
