Sermon Notes
God has a race for you to run. Everyone starts well, but a bad diagnosis, divorce, or a mistake you’ve made can cut in on you and knock you off course. Regardless of what it may be, it comes from Satan. You can be confident today that Satan has already been defeated, and you can run your race well!
Key Scriptures:
Galatians 5:7-10: Galatians 5:1; Romans 11:29; Ruth 1:20-21; Ruth 4:14-15; I Samuel 1:9-20; Genesis 37:4; Genesis 41:51-52; Hebrews 12:1-3
Key Points:
- Your mistakes do not disqualify you. If you’ve made mistakes, God’s call and gifts are still on your life. Your failure is not final. Don’t disqualify yourself and go back into what God has called you out of. You never qualified yourself when God called you, so you can’t disqualify yourself if you mess up. Get back to what God has called you to do and run again. Keep pressing on!
- God has a plan for your pain. The bitterness of life can cut in on you and make you feel like God has forgotten about you. You may be bitter and broken, but God can give you strength and peace again. When life has cut in on you, and you don’t know what to do or say, cling to the loving arms of Jesus and thank God for who He is. God is always faithful in every season; don’t take any other view.
- God hears the cry of your tears. God seeks the tears that flow only for Him in private. Running your race doesn’t always look petty, but if you keep walking forward, despite what’s tried to stop you from running your race, God will make your paths straight.
- God loves you. People may have abused or hurt you, but God is faithful to work everything together for your good. Your greatest betrayal can become your greatest promotion when you submit to God. He can make you forgetful in hardship and fruitful in suffering. God will redeem you out of any situation you’ve been through. God sees you and loves you.
Final Thoughts:
No diagnosis, failure, bitterness, or anything else can cut in on you and separate you from the love of God. Instead of looking at your mistakes and failures, fix your eyes upon Jesus and keep running your race. Jesus endured the Cross and was cut in so that you could never be cut out of God’s hand. You can be overcome by Jesus’ blood and the word of your testimony. Don’t take any other view.
