Living To Be Spent
Sermon Note
It’s every believer’s duty to serve their generation in the will of God. You must allow God to spend your life to buy the life of another.
Key Scriptures:
II Corinthians 12:15; Acts 13:36; Haggai 2:8; I Timothy 4:12; Acts 6:3-10; Acts 7:58; Joel 2:28; Revelation 12:11
Key Points:
- God calls one generation to pick up rocks so that the next generation can have a harvest. There are some things you do that you may not even see the harvest of, but the generations after you will.
- When God spends someone, it’s because He’s buying a new generation. Stephen was the first martyr for the gospel, and when he died, Saul of Tarsus was collecting the coats of those who stoned him. But while Stephen was being spent, Saul was being bought. God used the life of a good man to buy the life of a bad man who would go on to write more than half of the New Testament.
- Jesus was spent to buy you. The greatest sacrifice was Jesus’s life on the Cross. He died so you can be free, forgiven, and live a life of purpose for His glory.
Final Thoughts:
The blood of martyrs is crying out for revival, and God will answer from Heaven, but it will be done through you. Your life is not measured by duration, but by donation. Allow God to spend you and send you for His will.
