Digging the Family Well
Sermon Notes
Wells in the Bible were vital for life. In the same way, there is a well of living water that’s vital for your spiritual life. It’s not just for you, but for your family, and it must be re-dug. What you need for life is only found in Jesus Christ.
Key Scriptures:
Genesis 26:15-18; John 4:6-11; II Samuel 23:17
Key Points:
- You can be saved and satisfied. When you give your life to Christ, if you truly change, you won’t want to go back to your old life. When you’re saved, the well of living water satisfies you.
- The well is deep. When you get saved, there’s still more. The well is deep and filled with more of God’s Spirit. How deep do you want to go?
- No one can stop you from getting to the well. If you’re going to receive water from the well of living water, you have to be determined. If you’re not, the devil will stop it up with junk and pollution.
Final Thoughts:
Every church is a result of people who dug wells of faith for the next generation. What you need isn’t found in the world, but in re-digging those old wells full of living water. It’s not just for you, but for the generations after you.
