Who Cut In On You? (Part 2)

"The one who is throwing you into confusion, whoever that may be, will have to pay the penalty." Galatians 5:10 (NIV)

You’ve felt it—that sudden fog that clouds your mind and heart. One minute you’re running strong, walking in truth, and trusting God. The next minute, you’re second-guessing everything. You feel uncertain. Confused. Off track.

That confusion didn’t come from God. Scripture is clear: God is not the author of confusion. The enemy is. Satan is the accuser, the liar, the deceiver. And sometimes, all it takes is just a little lie to knock you off course. A whisper of doubt. A question that goes unanswered. A thought that says, “Maybe I’m not really called.” That little bit of yeast works through the whole batch of dough, just like Paul said.

That’s how the enemy works. Quiet. Subtle. Undermining the truth one thought at a time. But you don’t have to stay in that confusion. Paul says it again: “I am confident you will take no other view.” You will come back to truth. You will remember who called you and why you started running in the first place.

Remember Peter? He wasn’t a great fisherman, but Jesus called him anyway. Jesus said, “Follow me, and I’ll make you a fisher of men.” For three years, Peter walked with Jesus. He saw miracles with his own eyes—blind eyes opened, dead bodies raised, demons cast out. He saw it all. And he believed. But even Peter got knocked off course.

In Jesus’s greatest moment of need, Peter denied Him. Not once, but three times. After that failure, Peter did what many of us do: he went back to what Jesus had called him out of. He returned to fishing. He thought it was over. But God’s call is irrevocable. Romans 11:29 says His gifts and His call are under full warranty. Never canceled. Never rescinded.

You might feel like your mistake was too big or your failure too final. But hear this today: you’re not finished.

You might feel disqualified. Your calling still stands. You’re not too broken. You’re not too late. Get back up. Shake off the confusion. Step back into your purpose. God hasn’t changed His mind about you.
