Keep Your Eyes Fixed On Jesus (Part 2)
“‘Where is your faith?’ He asked His disciples. In fear and amazement, they asked one another, ‘Who is this? He commands even the winds and the water, and they obey Him.’” Luke 8:25
Has God called you to do something great? Don’t let distractions cause you to lose your miracle. Dig into the word. Get into prayer. Keep your eyes focused on Jesus because the enemy will always try to distract you.
Ecclesiastes 11:4 tells us, “He who observes the wind will not sow, and he who regards the clouds will not reap.” In other words, conditions in your relationships and in your career will never be perfect. You have to make up your mind that you’re not going to be distracted and discouraged because if you allow it, the wind will talk you out of your blessings. The storm clouds want to intimidate you from moving forward. If God has led you to do something, do not look to the left or the right. Keep your eyes on Jesus and do what He’s called you to do. It does not matter what you’re hearing and feeling. Your emotions come and go like the waves of the ocean. They’re up one day and down the next. Faith says, “I believe in what I cannot see because Jesus said it, and He told me to go, and I can do the impossible.”
One of the big distractions that stop most people from following the dream God has for their lives is the winds of economic collapse. These winds say, “You will be broke. You are going to lose everything.” Ignore those voices. You have nothing to fear if God is on your side. In the Old Testament, the angel of death passed over the houses that had the blood of the lamb on them. You are living under a supernatural protection because you are a child of the Almighty God.
There will always be someone ready to talk you out of God’s blessings. Pay no attention to the “winds” of negativism and pessimism. Just stay focused on Jesus. Paul said, “I am determined to know nothing among you. I refuse to be distracted except Jesus Christ and Him crucified.” (1 Corinthians 2:2) The devil and hell can’t stop you, but distractions can. That’s what the story of Peter and the waves teach us. It wasn’t devils and demons that stopped Peter from doing the unusual and the impossible. It was the winds and the waves of distraction. God wants to give His people unusual success, victories, and blessings.
Many people on the news and in the community will make you think that your whole nation is headed down a path to destruction. But there are still great people out there. There are people who have a heart after God and who will lift up His name in everything they do. Don’t allow the little voices of distraction make you think that Jesus isn’t in control. He’s still large and in charge, and the gates of hell will not prevail against His people.
