How To Miss Your Miracle (Part 5)
"To the faithful you show yourself faithful, to the blameless you show yourself blameless…" Psalms 18:25
The paralyzed man who sat for 38 years at the pool of Bethesda shows us how to miss our miracle. He made excuses, accepted where he was, depended on other people instead of God, and surrounded himself with all the wrong people. The man also missed his miracle because he took his focus off of the small things he could do. He could have inched closer to his miracle each day, but instead, he just sat there and did nothing.
It was okay that the man wanted to be completely healed. But instead of sitting idle every day, he could have used what he had to move a little bit closer to his breakthrough every day. Small progress is still a win.
How do you get to where God has called you to be? By deciding to do a little bit of the right thing every day. Discipline is powerful because the small things we do each day compound into significant breakthroughs. When you fast and pray, you take one step closer to the "miracle pool." You are moving closer to your breakthrough. And it will come.
Often, we want to focus on the destination, but God cares about the process. He asked the paralyzed man, "Do you want to be made well?" Jesus knew the man wanted to be healed, but he was testing his faith. Each struggle and challenge tests your faith. Don't waste your days sitting around in hopelessness. Inch closer to God one step at a time and you receive your miracle.
