Blessings and Obedience (3)

I believe God has an even greater level than “just enough.” He wants you to move up to the basket level. The perfect example of the basket level of blessing is the story in the book of John, of the boy who shared his lunch with 5,000 hungry people. A “great multitude” had gathered to hear Jesus teach. When they became hungry, a young boy offered Jesus his meal of five barley loaves and two small fish. For the boy, it was just enough lunch. But for the masses …

“And Jesus took the loaves, and when He had given thanks He distributed them to the disciples, and the disciples to those sitting down; and likewise of the fish, as much as they wanted”
(John 6:11, NKJV).

After everyone was full, Scripture says there were 12 basketfuls left over. When we give out of our lack, or out of our just enough, there is miraculous, supernatural increase! God wants you not only to have enough for your family, but enough to bless your community. Are you offering Him what you have?

God says in Joel 2:25-26, “So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten … You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied, And praise the name of the LORD your God, Who has dealt wondrously with you; And My people shall never be put to shame.” That sounds like the basket level is more than enough! God wants you to have more than enough to bless your family and to be able to sow seed to bless others.
