August Partner Letter

Dear Friend,

I hope you are having a great summer and enjoying your family. What an amazing time it is! We see the fullness of life all around us as children play, flowers bloom, and parks and pools fill with families and friends doing life together. If you look closely, you will see the joy of life and all the possibilities each day holds. As believers in Jesus Christ the Bible tells us in Psalm 16:11 these timeless and sacred truths:

You will show me the path of life; in your presence is fullness of joy, at your right hand are pleasures forevermore. —Psalm 16:11

What a marvelous promise to every believer that there is a path to a place of joy. There is a place where you can find joy, and that place is in His presence. You don’t have to buy anything, you don’t have to see anything, and you don’t have to go anywhere. All you have to do is stop the busy hustle and bustle of your day, take hold of the hundreds of thoughts competing for your attention and replace them with one simple focus . . . Jesus. In His presence, there is fullness of joy. How desperate we are for joy in these days we live in, and we need His presence in the many decisions we make each day in the comings and goings of our lives.

I preached a message recently where I talked about an experiment conducted by the Washington Post. In short, they asked one of the most famous violin players in the world to stand at the Metro Station in Washington DC and play his violin to the morning passers-by. This same violin player was paid $1000 per minute, over $90,000 for each 90-minute concert he performed! Much to the shock of the newspaper editor, people passed by this prodigy as if he were a street beggar and when the morning was over, he had only netted about $14.00 for his efforts. Thousands of people were in the presence of greatness, the same greatness many of them would pay hundreds of dollars to see. But in their haste and rush of the day, they missed an amazing opportunity to have a front row seat in the presence of the master violinist.

Make me hear joy and gladness, that the bones You have broken may rejoice. —Psalm 51:8

I pray that we do not become so busy and rushed and self-absorbed that we live in constant stress with hurried lives and consequently miss the presence of God. Nothing matters more than the hand of God on our lives. It says in Nehemiah 8, “The joy of the Lord is our STRENGTH.”

There is an old song we used to sing that was taken directly from Psalm 51:10-12:

Create in me a clean heart, of God.
And renew a right spirit in me.
Cast me not away from thy presence oh God.
Take not thy Holy Spirit from me.
Restore unto me, the joy of my salvation,
and renew a right spirit within me.

We possess such amazing promises from our Lord. Promises of forgiveness, grace, mercy, restoration and joy are yours simply because you are a child of God. I pray you experience the presence of God in this season of life as never before and I want to help you experience the joy that comes from the simple, daily discipline of slowing down long enough to encounter the Master. He thought enough of us to send His son.

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. —John 3:16

God gave us everything, so we could have one thing: eternal life. When we give to others, we are reflecting His heart, His nature, His love. That’s why it is so rewarding and brings such joy to give without hesitation or expectation of anything in return.

Since 2009, Kingdom Connection partners worldwide have been providing 270,000 meals per month in Haiti. It takes just $8 to feed a hungry family in Haiti for an entire month. I believe one of the greatest ways to experience the fullness God’s joy is help someone in need.  Please prayerfully consider how many starving people you can save with a nutritious meal today.

Your gift of $30, $100 or $1,000 will feed hungry children in Haiti and help us continue broadcasting the gospel around the world. Whatever you can do will make a big difference for desperate families in this poverty-stricken nation. Whatever you can give today is so critical. I learned alarming news from
our contacts on the ground recently that makes your response even more urgent.  Children are literally eating mud in order to stave off hunger pangs. Because of our local missionaries and the 30,000 square foot Kingdom Connection Food Distribution center, I believe God has uniquely positioned us to respond immediately to their needs. We have the storage facility and the delivery system . . . we just need the food.

Your gifts to this ministry bring hope far beyond your imagination. They bring joy to the thousands of children each month who are eating hot meals in Haiti. They bring hope to young women who are being rescued from human trafficking and given a safe place to live. They bring the gospel into the homes of millions of people who may otherwise never hear about the love of God.

With your generous gift of any amount this month, request The Joyful Life 2-CD set. In this powerful 2-CD set, you’ll learn three things to watch for that will rob your joy, and discover the secret to living every day in the joy of the Lord regardless of your circumstances. For your best gift of $30 or more you’ll also receive my custom illustrated, oversized coffee table book full of daily encouragements and inspiring scripture.

The enemy knows he cannot steal your salvation, so he attempts to steal your joy. Don’t settle for a mediocre life. There is fullness of joy in the presence of the Lord—an abundant life awaits you!

In His Service,

Jentezen Franklin

P.S. We need your support to reach the lost and hurting with the gospel, and restore to them the joy of their salvation—the hope of Christ awaiting them!
