The Priority Of Peace
Sermon Notes
You can have all the wealth in the world, but if you don’t have God, you can never have perfect peace. When you seek first the Kingdom of God, He gives you a peace that surpasses understanding and adds everything else to you.
Key Scriptures:
Song of Solomon 3:7-8; I Kings 10:19-21; I Kings 4:24; I Kings 11:14; Luke 12:15; II Timothy 1:7; I John 4:18
Key Points:
- There is no peace in material possessions without Jesus Christ. You won’t take your material possessions with you when you die. You will not find life in material things. But when you have Jesus, you have everything. You have eternal security with Christ. You have a past forgiven, a purpose for living, and a home in heaven.
- You can’t escape the inner enemy that can destroy you. When you rebel against God, you lose your peace. You won’t be able to sleep, not because of a monster under your bed, but because of the monster in your bed. There's no escape when you don’t have peace in your heart. You can't have peace from God without peace with God. The problem is not your house or geographical location; it’s your heart. Quit blaming everyone else for your lack of peace.
- Don’t be peace-poor and money-rich. You can have all the wealth in the world, but still be poor in peace. But when you seek first the Kingdom of God, He will give you peace and supply all your needs according to His riches and glory in Christ Jesus.
Final Thoughts:
Fear brings torment, but God wants to free you from it today. If you’re tired of living on the run and having anxiety, ask Him to set you free. Prioritize peace that only comes from God. Jesus is the greatest treasure, and what you’re looking for can only be found in Him.
