A Cup or a Well

Perspective is a powerful thing. Often our trials are magnified and our blessings, minimized. This is exactly the way the enemy wants you to see things and it’s easy to do. When we face disappointment, feel like we’ve failed or encounter setbacks in life it’s natural to feel discouraged. But we cannot allow the enemy to take advantage when we’re down. Get back up!

Take a look around. Put things into perspective. See beyond yourself. Our trials are temporary, they are but a drop in eternity; a cup compared to the deep well of Living Water we can access. Jesus said in John 4:10 that if we ask, He will give us living water! He went on to say, Whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life”(vs. 14).

We must learn to look past our cup of trials and tap into God’s never-ending well of blessing! The cup is good; it serves its purpose and leaves us thirsty. And as long as we keep trying to satisfy our thirst in our own might, we will be desperate for more. But those who, “hunger and thirst for righteousness,” the Bible says, “they will find God” (Matthew 5:6).

We must stop focusing on the single-servings of disappointment, failure and setback. Instead, focus on our source of living water that never runs dry! When we experience the well of God, we experience supernatural blessing. The full life awaits you at His well. A restored family awaits you at His well. Provision and healing await you at His well.

Be encouraged this week. Take on a spirit of gratitude. Don't focus on those things that bring you down and focus on the deep well the Lord has placed before you.
