What’s Your “I Must”?

If you spend time with God, He will show you who you are; that’s your “I am.” But eventually, He will show you your purpose; that’s your “I must.” When you get your “I must,” it takes you from being to doing and from being complacent to being compelled. What is your “I must”?

Key Scriptures:

Like 2:46-50; I Corinthians 15:10; John 10:14-16; Numbers 23:5; Job 32:1-3; Jeremiah 20:9; Luke 19:5; John 4:4; Acts 18:21; Acts 19:21; Luke 4:43; Acts 9:6; John 3:7; II Corinthians 5:10

Key Points:

  1. An “I must” is more than just an opportunity. Opportunities come and go, but when you get an “I must,” it changes your life. Nothing stays the same. Every great person of faith in the Bible had an “I must.”
  2. An “I must” releases order into your life. When you find your “I must,” it is the most important thing to you. It tells you what to give your money, time, and energy to, who you hang out with, where you go, and how you pray.
  3. Don’t sacrifice your “I must” for an “I won’t.” Something on the inside drives you; that’s your “I must.” It will overcome your fear of anything. God will open the doors and provide the resources. Of course, there are challenges, but an “I must” will cause you to walk on the water of impossible odds. You cannot be stopped when you have an “I must.”
  4. You must be born again. You must stand before Christ to be judged and give an account of what you have done. Before then, if you want to spend eternity with God, you must be born again. Your “I must” starts with making Jesus Christ your Lord and Savior.

Final Thoughts:

God has a purpose for your life, and it’s more than just an opportunity or dream. An “I must” is a divine mission that changes everything. There may be challenges along the way of doing what God has called you to do, but if you truly obey God, nothing will be able to stop you!
