The Presence of the Lord
Sermon Notes
Church is about more than singing and preaching; it’s about God’s presence. It’s God’s presence that brings life to every area. The Church must be filled with people who go after God’s presence more than anything else.
Key Scriptures:
Mark 15:34-39; John 6:63; Matthew 27:46; Genesis 3:10; Revelation 5:8-9; Genesis 28:12-16; John 1:32; Genesis 8:8-11; Psalm 51:11; Mark 5:25-29; I Timothy 5:21; Exodus 33:2; Exodus 33:15; Judges 7:13
Key Points:
- The presence of God is powerful. As long as you stay in God’s presence and in His Word, you will never, spiritually, die. Churches and people full of the presence of God will always be full of life. Not all churches are the same; the presence of God makes the difference. Keep the presence of God in your church and life. Don’t ever lose the presence of God.
- The presence of God creates a throne zone. When God’s presence is in a church, conviction comes, and you begin to align with Heaven. There is power in God’s presence. The more worship goes up, the more glory comes down. The veil is torn, and God is inviting you into His presence to talk to you about things you haven’t even thought about.
- The presence of God stirs you. Like any good cook, the Holy Spirit wants to stir something up in you so you don’t stick to the bottom and burn. God is in the kitchen, and you are in His oven, and when He’s done with you, you’re supposed to be well done and on fire, not medium rare.
- The presence of God will bless and blister you. When you enter into His presence with praise, He enters into your circumstances with power. You may be maxed out in thinking, but he’s never maxed out in power. Faith puts no limits on God, and God puts no limits on faith. Without the presence of God, you lose your fear, ear, and tears.
- Host the Holy Ghost. Like a good host, you should make the Holy Spirit feel welcome in your life. Like a dove, the Holy Spirit is looking for a place to land and sit, but He will not land on death. The dove of God’s spirit is looking for life. When He touches your tongue, you will speak another language, and peace and forgiveness will come.
- Touch Him, and you’ll be able to reach them. God has charged you to reach others. When you’re charged, you hold the power to reach others. So don’t just get shocked in a service; get charged, and reach someone else as Christ’s ambassador.
Final Thoughts:
If you don’t have God’s presence, you don’t have anything. If His presence doesn’t go with you, don’t go. If any relationship, business, or party costs you His presence, you shouldn’t want any part of it. But when the presence of God is with you, anything is possible.
