Living In The Throne Zone

“Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.” Ephesians 4:32

In the Old Testament, the Ark of the Covenant was a sacred relic. Exodus 25:21-22 says, “You shall put the mercy seat on top of the ark, and in the ark, you shall put the testimony that I will give you. And there I will meet with you…” The ark was designed with two cherubim facing each other but not looking at each other. They are looking down at the mercy seat. The mercy seat was where the blood was sprinkled seven times a day. So the two angels saw each other through the gaze of mercy. Their wings touched in unity, and in the middle, God’s presence would come and visit.

In your marriage, you do not have to see eye to eye on everything, but you do need to see each other through a spirit of mercy and forgiveness. Like the angels on the ark, when you “touch wings” in unity, you attract God’s presence. When you stay in the “throne zone” and keep God at the center of your marriage, it will only get better and better with time. You do not have to try harder to love your spouse. When you have a healthy personal relationship with God, your love for your spouse will grow organically. Like a triangle, you and your spouse are on the left and right sides, and God is at the top. As you move closer to God, you will move closer to your spouse.

When you make up your mind to live in unity and not harbor resentment, God can come and heal any hurt. When you keep God in the middle of your marriage, there is no issue that you can’t overcome together. Satan would love to destroy your marriage because your union has a divine purpose. Ecclesiastes 4:12 says, “Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him. And a threefold cord is not quickly broken.” With God in your marriage, it will be unbreakable.
