The Power Of Forgiveness (Part 4)

“Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.” Ephesians 4:32

Jesus said in Luke 17, “Forgive seven times seventy.” That’s four hundred and ninety times in a day. If you break that down, that’s thirty times an hour. If you break it down more than that, that’s once every two minutes. You’ve got to live a life of forgiveness if you are told to forgive every two minutes. Jesus said, “There was a man who borrowed the equivalent of thirty million dollars from the king, and the king called him in and said, “Can you pay me back?” And the man said, “No, I can’t.”  And the king said, “You are forgiven, don’t worry about it, I’ll write it off.” He blessed him so much, forgiving him thirty million dollars. Then, surprisingly, the pardoned man walked outside and spotted a man who owed him the equivalent of thirty-two dollars, and he took him by the throat and threatened him. The man begged for more time, but he had no mercy and threw him in prison.

You have been forgiven a thirty million plus debt in Heaven, and when you look at somebody who’s done you wrong and you won’t forgive them you are enslaving them over some little pennies worth of stuff that don’t amount to anything in the light of eternity! The king heard what happened and said, “Because you didn’t forgive that guy of that tiny debt, I’m not going to forgive you of the millions you owe me.” Choose a lifestyle of forgiveness, and you will see God’s favor and blessings in all that you do.
