The Power of a Little Bit of Hope

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1

Sometimes life brings us challenges and situations that seem unbearable. What do you do when it appears as though all is lost? This was David’s situation at Ziklag in I Samuel 30. He had lost everything and that included and all of his family and all his worldly possessions. In that moment all he had was just a little bit of hope. So, he took a step back and with that little bit of hope he inquired of the Lord. When you go through the trials of this life there may be days when all you have left is a little bit of hope. But, praise God, a little bit of hope is all you need. Take a beat and Inquire of the Lord. Look to Him and trust Him like never before. You will find just a little bit of faith was all you needed.

Key Scriptures

I Samuel 30; Hebrews 11:1; Matthew 17:20; Psalm 30:5; Nehemiah 8:10; John 16:33; James 4:8; Deuteronomy 32:30; Matthew 18:19; Jeremiah 29:11; Philippians 4:13; Romans 8:37

Key Points

1. The smallest level of faith is hope.

2. If you can learn pessimism, you can also learn optimism.

3. God’s hand won’t leave you in the storm.

You must have PERMA

Positive emotions: you have to have the joy of the Lord

Engagement: engage the Presence of God

Relationships: with Jesus and others

Mission: You were saved on purpose for a purpose

Accomplishments: You are MORE than a conqueror

Final Thoughts

If you will keep on swimming, His hand will always lift you out. He is always so much closer than we have imagined, and even when you don’t FEEL Him, He is there.  A little bit of hope is all you need. If you will have just a little bit of hope God can work a miracle. The joy of the Lord IS your strength regardless the situation. Worship even when you don’t feel like it. Make the time to be a friend to someone. You may feel like you don’t need it, but maybe do it for someone else and watch to see what the Lord does in YOUR life.

Lastly, you are MORE than a conqueror! Never forget that when all is said and done—we win! You win because He has won it all.
