The Touch of the King (Part Two)

“He reached out his hand and touched the man. ‘I am willing,’ he said. ‘Be clean!’ Immediately he was cleansed of his leprosy.” Matthew 8:3 (NIV)

There is a difference between preaching and preaching with the touch of God. There is a difference between sitting in a church service and personally reaching out in faith, hunger, and desperation, saying, “Lord, I need Your touch.” The danger is that the longer you go without His touch, the more normal it feels to live untouched. Many believers today love the Lord, read the Bible, and listen to worship, yet still grow used to living without a fresh move of His presence. Even those busy working in ministry need more than activity. They need the hand of the King to touch them again.

If we’re not careful, we start to think it’s normal not to feel God’s power. We go through the motions—singing songs, giving, serving—but deep down, there’s a dryness that can only be healed by His touch. The truth is, you were created to be touched by God. When you go too long without it, your soul begins to wither. There’s an emptiness that no amount of entertainment, work, or even digital connection can fill.

The world is more connected than ever, yet people are lonelier than ever. Our hearts are saturated with screens but starved for a touch.

God’s touch changes everything. It awakens your spirit, stirs your hunger, and reminds you that you’re not meant to live off yesterday’s encounter. Just like when He formed Adam with His own hands and breathed life into him, you too were created for a living, breathing relationship with the One who made you. You don’t need just another service or song. You need His presence.

So today, lift your hands and reach again. Cry out, “Lord, touch me. Let me feel Your power. Make me alive again.” The same hand that touched the leper in Matthew 8 is reaching for you right now. He is willing.

Prayer: Lord, I don’t want to go through the motions. Touch me again with Your power and presence. Awaken my heart and fill me with fresh fire. I reach for You today. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
