The Ark Is Coming Back
“Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for He who promised is faithful.” Hebrews 10:23
In 1 Samuel 6, the Philistines stole the Ark of the Covenant from the Israelites in battle. Israel had turned away from God and had lost His protection and favor. In those days, the Ark of the Covenant represented the presence of God Almighty. Wherever the ark was, God’s protection, favor, and provision could be found.
In America today, something very similar is happening. God’s presence is not welcome like it once was. The world is growing more and more evil. Recent events like the Covid pandemic, wars, and a huge economic crash have left many wondering what is going on. Are we in the last days the Bible speaks of when the hearts of men have grown cold for God? Could we be approaching the hour that Jesus will return?
After the Philistines brought the ark into their land, God struck them with plagues and economic ruin. So they decided to get rid of the ark. Miraculously, the cows they hitched to the cart carrying the ark started heading straight into the direction of God’s people with no driver leading them! The Bible says, “Now the people of Beth Shemesh were harvesting their wheat in the valley, and when they looked up and saw the ark, they rejoiced at the sight.” (1 Samuel 6:13)
The Ark of the Covenant held three precious things that we desperately need in America today. It had the Ten Commandments, representing God’s holiness in our lives. It held Aaron’s rod (a dead stick) that still budded flowers and almonds, representing the Holy Spirit. We need the Holy Spirit to take lives, marriages, homes, and families without hope and make them come alive again. Lastly, the ark held a manna jar representing God’s provision. This jar reminded God’s people that when they were in the wilderness about to starve, God miraculously rained down manna for them to eat. He wanted them always to know He was their provider. God also wants us to see that truth today. It doesn’t matter what the economy looks like; He is the God of our finances and will make a way where there seems to be no way.
We must pray that God’s presence will return to our country. We need His Word, Spirit, and provision in America like never before. The Ark of God’s presence will return to our land. Revival is coming!
