How To Get Hell Out Of Your House

When the Israelites crossed into the Promised Land, they stepped into houses they didn’t build, rooms they didn’t paint, and foundations laid by people who had welcomed paganism and hidden idols into the very walls. But nothing stays hidden from God.

He sees behind every barrier, and His grace was put on display even through the strict purification requirements found in Leviticus 14. Those ancient commands carried profound prophetic weight, pointing straight to the cross of Jesus Christ through two birds, where one was sacrificed and one was set free, alongside cedarwood, scarlet yarn, and hyssop that foreshadowed the ultimate cleansing power of Calvary.

God’s heart has always been for His people to have homes completely dedicated to Him. Believers today do not need to walk around terrified of evil spirits, but we do have a responsibility to cast them out. When we leave doors open, unaddressed compromises turn into welcome mats for the enemy.

Protecting our families means being fiercely intentional about the company we keep, the influences we allow in, and the activities we tolerate inside our four walls. As parents, the calling is especially heavy when we are charged to guide our children toward obedience, refuse to let rebellion take root, and actively guard our households.

That protection starts with an intentional act of spiritual warfare: we must anoint our homes.

Clearing out spiritual clutter requires more than good intentions. It calls for active faith. Walk through your rooms and pray over them, dedicating every square foot back to God. Boldly declare your stance:

As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. (Joshua 24:15)

Gather your family together to pray in unity over your living space. Psalm 133 reminds us of this vital truth:

Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! … For there the command was the blessing, even life forevermore. (Psalm 133:1, 3)

Offenses and friction are bound to happen in family life, but division cannot be allowed to rule the atmosphere. By covering our homes in prayer, standing shoulder to shoulder, and cutting off compromise, we push back the darkness.

How are things in your house? It is time to clear out the residue of the past, anoint your space, and invite the undivided presence and blessing of God to dwell within your walls.

If you want to dive deeper into this word and let it challenge your own heart and living space, you can watch right here. Take a few minutes to lean in, catch every part of the teaching, and let God speak to your family about taking back your home.
