Get Up

“Do not rejoice over me, my enemy; when I fall, I will arise; when I sit in darkness, the Lord will be a light to me.” Micah 7:8 (NKJV)

This is one of those go-to verses. The kind you speak to yourself when life hits hard. The kind you whisper when you have been knocked to the ground, and you are wondering if you are going to make it. Micah 7:8 is a powerful declaration.

There will be moments when you fall. Not if. When. The Bible never pretends that believers are immune to setbacks. You can get news that takes the breath out of you. You can face betrayal, loss, failure, or exhaustion that leaves you sitting in darkness. And hear this clearly. It is not embarrassing to be down for a moment. It is not disgraceful to be shaken. It is not failure to fall. But it is dangerous to stay down.

The prophet says it with confidence. When I fall, I will arise. Not maybe. Not someday. I will arise. Your permanent address is not the ground. The enemy would love for you to believe that where you fell is where you belong. But God says your future is not defined by the moment you went down. It is defined by the decision to get back up.

Isaiah tells us that the yoke is destroyed because of the anointing. Not just broken. Destroyed. Broken things can be repaired and put back on. Destroyed things never return. That is the kind of victory God wants to give you. Ground that cannot be regained by the enemy. Freedom that cannot be reversed.

There is an old line that says, I am doing pretty good under the circumstances. But the better question is, why are you living under them? In Christ, you do not live under circumstances. You rise above them. When you sit in darkness, the Lord Himself becomes your light. You do not rely on advice or willpower. You rely on the Lord.

Here is something powerful. You can do what the devil cannot do. He fell and cannot get back up. You may fall, but through Jesus, you can rise again. The enemy often celebrates too early. He sees people bound, families under pressure, dreams delayed, and he assumes it is over. But Micah says otherwise.

Do not rejoice over me, my enemy. Do not celebrate too soon. When I fall, I will arise. Turn your heart toward that truth today. Speak it over your life. Speak it over your family. Speak it over your future.

Prayer: Lord, I thank You that falling is not the end of my story. When I am knocked down, You give me strength to rise again. When I sit in darkness, You are my light. Destroy every yoke that has tried to keep me down and restore what the enemy thought was lost. By Your power, I choose to get up again. Amen.
