A Day of Hope and Gratitude: Hostages Released Amid Chaos in Israel

January 30, 2025, marks a bittersweet moment for the people of Israel and for all who have stood with them in prayer during this difficult time. We rejoice in the release of three Israeli hostages—Arbel Yehud, 29; Gadi Moses, 80; and Agam Berger, 20—alongside five Thai nationals as part of a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas.

Yet even amid this long-awaited freedom, the chaos and disorder surrounding the handover revealed the ongoing dangers faced by innocent lives caught in the grip of terror. The disturbing scenes broadcast on Israeli news, showing hostages surrounded by a chaotic crowd, highlighted the unimaginable cruelty inflicted on these individuals.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu rightly condemned the handover as "shocking," calling for mediators to ensure such scenes never happen again. We must continue to stand in prayer that justice, safety, and peace prevail in this land so deeply loved by God.

Arbel Yehud and Gadi Moses, residents of Kibbutz Nir Oz, were abducted during the horrific Hamas-led assault on October 7, 2023. Yehud was forcibly taken from her home, while Moses, a respected agronomist and vintner, was also captured. The people of this kibbutz, resilient and united, lined the road today waving flags and driving tractors to welcome them home.

This beautiful display of unity is a powerful reminder that God’s promise for His people remains strong: He is with them through every trial and every victory.

Today, we give thanks for the freedom of those released, and we lift our hearts to heaven, praying for every hostage still awaiting deliverance. I encourage you to join me in asking God for continued protection over Israel, for peace in this region, and for His justice to reign.

Together, let us remain unwavering in faith, knowing that God is always faithful to His promises.
