The Exchange

Do you ever feel like you are just making it? Maybe you feel like your money is spent before you get your paycheck. It's tiring, isn't it?

God consistently gives us truths to abide by. One of the ways to break the chains of not enough is to be faithful with what you have right now. And according to God’s word, being faithful with our resources (money, time, gifts, talents…) means sowing back into the kingdom of God; sowing into others. Specifically with our finances, this means tithing.

Our resources are not something we own, we are just stewards of what belongs to the father. When we surrender our resources back to Him, He will increase us from a bag to a barrel, a barrel to a basket, and a basket to a barn! (Click here to learn more about that in this message.)

Deuteronomy 28:8 says, “The Lord will command the blessing on you in your storehouses and in all to which you set your hand, and He will bless you in the land which the Lord your God is giving you.” God doesn’t just want to bless you—He’s commanding the blessing, but hear this, “if you diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all His commandments” (vs. 1). There is a condition on the blessing; you must obey the Lord.

Trusting God with our finances and resources can be so hard. And it’s tempting to hold on tight when blessing come into our hands. But the truth is, when you get to the point that you can trust God to provide for you and experience Him as your source, it becomes easier and easier to release what’s in your hand, knowing that when you do, you make room for Him to release more of what’s in His hand!
