Generational Garments

Family is God’s design. Strong families make strong churches; strong churches make strong communities; strong communities make strong nations. The Enemy wants to attack and destroy the family. But when you serve God, it doesn’t just affect you, but also the generations after you.

Key Points:
- You are a priest. God’s blessings are not reserved just for preachers and pastors. You are a part of God’s royal priesthood through the blood of your High Priest, Jesus.
- You only pass on what you wear. It’s easy to talk the talk and praise God on Sundays, but it’s what you wear Monday through Saturday that gets passed down to the next generation. Pass down the garment of praise, faith, and consecration by living it out every day. The garment you make them is the one they will wear.
- Pass down the garment of praise. Don’t just praise God on Sundays. If dad doesn’t praise God, the children won’t either. Let your family see and feel your praise every day. Don’t just teach your children how to throw a ball; teach them how to praise God.
- Pass down the garment of faith. Faith says God can do anything. Let prayer be your first response, not your last resort. If you’re young, don’t just admire the garment of faith from the generation before you; put it on for yourself.
- Pass down the garment of anointing and consecration. The garment of purity still wears well. Walking down the aisle on your wedding day as a virgin still wears well today. Pass down purity to the next generation.
Final Thoughts:
Even if your children never hear or see the faith of your parents or grandparents, when they see you wearing the garment they passed down to you, they get the same blessing. What will you pass on to your family?
