When you get to the top in life, with success and fortune, you face dangers and opportunities for falling that you didn’t have when you were at the bottom. When you get to the top, you must be careful lest you fall. But it’s not just on you; God will keep you from falling if you stay engaged in spiritual warfare.

Key Points:
- Stay engaged in spiritual warfare. Many are anointed but unengaged in prayer, reading the Word, forgiving, staying humble, and seeking God’s face. You’ll never get to a season where you don’t have to engage in warfare because the devil doesn’t take any days off. You must stay engaged in the good fight of faith. Don’t get to a place of success and forget that God is the one who gives you the power to get wealth.
- God is able to keep you from falling. God hasn’t called you to fall. If you’re successful in your marriage, business, or ministry, you are a prime target for Satan. He wants you to fall, but if you engage in spiritual warfare, you don’t have to keep yourself; God will keep you!
- There are some demons you don't fight until you get to the top. David won private battles with a lion and a bear, so God gave him victory in the public battle—defeating Goliath. But at some point, David stopped winning private battles and engaging in warfare, and that’s when he fell off the roof. There are giants that watch and wait to attack until you start taking it easy. When you fall at the top, it affects more people than when you were at the bottom.
- It’s time to win private victories. No one else will see or know what you do in private, but God will. If you don’t win privately, you can keep the position for a season but lose the anointing.
- If you’ve fallen, you can get back up. Although David fell, he cried out to God, and God gave him a clean heart and renewed his joy again. If you’ve fallen, admit it, quit it, and forget it.
Final Thoughts:
When you get to a point of success, you can’t take it easy in your relationship with God. Engage in spiritual warfare by praying, fasting, reading the Word, and living a godly life.
