Introduction:
Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, and all you really have is today. Destiny is a daily decision; your daily routine will determine your success in life and as a Christian.
Key Scriptures:
Ephesians 4:26; Lamentations 3:22-23; Luke 9:23; Psalm 118:24; Genesis 1:5; Matthew 6:34; Matthew 6:11; Proverbs 8:34; Matthew 4:4; Luke 19:47-48; I Corinthians 15:31; Romans 7:18; II Timothy 2:12; Hebrews 3:13; Psalm 68:19; Acts 6:1; Acts 3:1-6; Genesis 3:8;
Key Points:
- Live in day-type compartments. 75% of New Year’s Resolutions have been given up on in the first two months of the year. So don’t worry about tomorrow or yesterday, but take up your cross, love, forgive, and rejoice today. Take life one day at a time.
- Be a daily person. There are decades when nothing happens, but there are days when decades happen. One day can affect decades, so it matters what you do every day.
- God‘s Word is daily. God’s wisdom can be gathered daily when you wait and listen to Him. Just as you eat daily, you should do the same with God’s Word.
- The Teacher teaches daily. Jesus taught in the Temple daily. Now your body is the Temple of the Holy Spirit, and the same Teacher will teach you daily if you will take time to listen. He delights in teaching you daily, but you must show up. You may not know the trial He’s preparing you for.
- Talk about Jesus daily. Swim against the negative current of the world. Stay positive, and ask God to give you a word of encouragement for someone daily. Talk about Jesus daily in secular settings.
- God has daily blessings for you. If you make $32,000 every year, you are in the top 1% of the world’s population in terms of wealth. If you have hot and cold water, air-conditioning, and a car, you are rich!
- Keep showing up daily. You may be one “Hallelujah” short of the Heavens breaking open and God’s light breaking forth in your life, so keep showing up.
Final Thoughts:
Even on your worst day, God still shows up. Even when you want to hide from Him, if you keep coming to Him daily, He will always be there to meet you.
