Seek God First

Sermon Notes

If you seek first the Kingdom of God, you don’t have to worry. No matter what you’re facing, seek first the Kingdom of God. If you seek God, He will seek you. God always takes care of His children.

Key Scriptures:

Matthew 6:33-34; Matthew 13:44:46; Luke 12:15-21; Philippians 3:8; Mark 12:30; Luke 12:32; Mark 12:41

Key Points:

  1. Jesus must be the treasure of your life. No one is exempt from greed. The most important priority in your life must be Jesus Christ— even more than your friends and family. You must be willing to give up everything to seek Jesus. Make Jesus the treasure of your life.
  2. Get rich toward God. You must be willing to give up anything to seek God. As soon as you die, everything you have will belong to someone else. You can’t take any of your wealth to Heaven.
  3. Don’t seek getting more, more than you seek Jesus. No man can serve two masters. God must be your first thought, not your last resort. You can’t have two things “first,” and God only wants to be first. So, count everything else as dung compared to Christ and put Him first in your life.

Final Thoughts:

God has already handled the biggest debt in your life— the debt of sin. If you seek God first, He can cancel any other debt in your life. When God becomes the most valuable thing in your life, He will open the windows of Heaven and pour out His blessing on your life.
