How To Step Into The Other World

Sermon Notes
Through passionate praise and a deep thirst for God, we can step from the natural realm into the supernatural realm of the Holy Spirit—where miracles happen, burdens lift, and we encounter God’s presence in powerful ways. On this Pentecost Sunday, Pastor Franklin reminded us that while we cannot live constantly in that “other world,” we can access it in moments through worship, hunger, and openness to the Holy Spirit.

Key Scriptures:
Psalm 42:1-2, 7; Joel 2:28-29; John 4:7-14, 23-24; Acts 2:1-4; Acts 19:1-6; 1 Corinthians 14:4-5, 14, 18

Key Points:

  1. Our soul thirsts for the Living God. A soul is not physical, but it can thirst. David described a deep soul-level thirst for God (Psalm 42:1-2). The Holy Spirit is the living water that truly satisfies. We must get thirsty enough to pour out our soul in worship and hunger for more of God.
  2. There is another real world — the realm of the supernatural. We live in what we call the “real world” — our professional lives, daily routines, and responsibilities — but there is another world, the supernatural realm of the Holy Spirit, that is just as real. Just as scuba diving reveals an entire world under the sea, the Spirit realm is equally real. A waterspout (vortex) can pull things from one world into another — the same way praise can pull miracles from the Spirit realm into our natural circumstances.
  3. God calls us to be spiritual “amphibians.” We are called to be believers who walk on earth but regularly step into the supernatural world of the Holy Spirit through prayer and praise. God wants us to live with one foot in the natural and one in the supernatural.
  4. Praise is the hinge that opens the door to the other world. Praise creates the “noise of the waterspouts” that opens portals into the supernatural. You won’t have a move of the Holy Spirit in a church that refuses to praise. Get out of your head and open your mouth to praise. You can make a joyful noise despite what you’re going through. Praise is the atmosphere of the miraculous and the hinge that opens the door to the supernatural.
  5. The Holy Spirit is the key to accessing this world. Jesus promised the Holy Spirit as our Helper who abides with us forever. Being filled with the Holy Spirit, with the evidence of speaking in tongues (Acts 2, Acts 19, 1 Corinthians 14), empowers us to live as spiritual “amphibians.” The Holy Spirit becomes the “master passion” that breaks every bondage, destroys yokes, overcomes addictions, brings healing, and gives us fresh strength and power.

Final Thoughts:

There is more to the Christian life than simply attending church and hearing teaching. Every now and then we must step through the door of praise into the realm of the miraculous where God is so real that everything else fades in comparison to His glory. Thirst deeply and welcome the Holy Spirit - step into the other world.
