Contend for Your Faith

Sermon Notes

We are living in a time when the Bible is called evil, and the preaching of the Bible is considered hate speech by many. You can’t sit on the sidelines and watch it happen; it’s time to contend for your faith.

Key Scriptures:

Jude 3-21; Deuteronomy 6:18, 12:8, 12:25, 12:28, 12:35, 13:18, 21:9; Judges 14:7, 16:1, 16:28, Job 31:1; Psalm 101:3; Judges 21:9, 2:10; Deuteronomy 6:7

Key Points:

  1. Do what is right in God’s eyes. When a nation is filled with people who do what is right in their own eyes, regardless of it being wrong in God’s eyes, that nation and those people are in a crisis. If you keep doing what is wrong in God’s eyes, there will be consequences.
  2. Don’t let fame, success, or sexual immorality be more important than doing what is right in God’s eyes. Sin is getting a free pass, and adultery is rampant while people reason that God “understands.” Don’t let your biblical views stay out of your political views.
  3. Secure the border. The nation is not being taken by force but seduced by pleasure and comfort. If America falls, it will be because American Christians sat back and refused to contend for their faith in politics. You must contend for your faith.
  4. Bring Heaven down. When you pray, fast, worship, read the Bible, and go to church, you pull Heaven down into the Earth. But if you allow sin to run rampant, you invite Hell to be pulled up into the culture. There is a war between the world and the Word. Don’t let the world change your conviction about what the Word of God clearly says.
  5. It’s crisis time. The world is a raging river, and the Church is a boat full of rescued people. But if you let the water of the world get into the boat of the Church, you will sink! Don’t let the world blur or move the line the Word of God clearly draws. Evil people are creeping in, and timeless truths are needed in these truthless times.
  6. God is not a globalist. “Christian nationalist” is a term that has been used to attack patriotic believers. But God loves nations. The Antichrist wants every nation to be weak and needy so that he can control them all, but God wants you to be free.

Final Thoughts:

The United States of America was founded and built on Christians who stood up for the Bible to change the culture. It’s time to stand up for what you believe and contend for your faith.
