Your Future Self is Coming! (Part Two)
"Lift up your eyes now and look from the place where you are: northward, southward, eastward, and westward, for all the land which you see I give to you and your descendants forever." Genesis 13:14-15 (NKJV)
You have a future self waiting to be revealed. But right now, you might be stuck in the place where you are, feeling like you’ve lost your vision, your dreams, your fire. Maybe you’re just existing instead of living. God’s word is clear: He says, “Lift up your eyes now and look from the place where you are.” You have to see what God says, not just what your present circumstances shout at you.
You have to raise your eyes above the struggles, the limitations, and the smallness of your current view.
When God tells Abraham to look north, south, east, and west, He is inviting Abraham to dream bigger than his situation, bigger than his resources, bigger than his present self.
God promises Abraham, and He promises you, “All the land which you see, I will give to you and your descendants forever.” That is an unshakable promise. But notice what God says next: “Arise, walk through the land, its length and its width, for I will give it to you.” You cannot stay where you are and expect the vision to come to life. You must get up, step out, and walk in faith. God has given you the land - the promise, the vision, and the calling, but if you stop moving and if you stop believing, you set boundaries on what God can do in your life.
Here is the truth you need to hear: if it’s all yours, it doesn’t matter which direction you start. Every step you take in faith moves you closer to the vision God has prepared for you. How many of you would like to be in a place with God where there is no wrong move to make? Standing in a spot where anything you do is going to be right. Did He not say, “I'll bless the work of your hands?” (Deuteronomy 28:12). And when you put Him first, study His Word, listen and tune into His voice, and start walking by faith in the direction He has told you to go, there is no bad move you can make.
Even if the enemy tries to stop you, God can make it work out for your good. You just have to keep looking, believing, walking, and dreaming. Stop settling. Lift up your eyes. Claim your future. Walk boldly into what God has promised. Your future self is waiting for you to start moving. What are you waiting for?
