You Were Made For More

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” 2 Corinthians 5:17

God is a big thinker. He desires to use His people in a big way. Moses was born into a system of slavery and defeat. His people had been in bondage for so long that they had accepted their lot in life and had stopped dreaming. But when Moses was born his mother saw something different in him. Moses was born to disrupt the current system. He was destined to break the cycle that the Israelite people had been living in.

God knew that Moses could not stay in the system and the old way of thinking he was living in and become the great leader God planned for him to be.

If he stayed in the little Hebrew village where he experienced nothing but a mentality of poverty and defeat he would never have been who God had intended him to be. So God orchestrated something unexpected. Moses ended up in Pharaoh’s palace, raised among rulers and warriors. He grew up around people who didn’t think like slaves. They thought like leaders. They saw victory, not defeat. They walked in confidence, not fear.

And that’s why being part of a church family matters so much. You may have been brought up in a home where you never saw a healthy, happy marriage. You may have never seen a member of your family graduate college. Poverty and dysfunction could have been the system you were raised in. But when you get around the people of God you will experience a whole new world of possibilities. You will hear people speak hope. You will see people walking in purpose and it will start to shift something inside you. You will begin to see that you can reign with Christ. You will come out of that victim mindset and realize you are favored and loved. When you see a group of people who are thriving, you will start to see life differently and you will begin to realize that you were born for greater things.
