When Jesus Gets In Your Wagon

“But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.” Matthew 7:14

After the Philistines stole the Ark of the Covenant from God’s people, they began to see plagues on their bodies and crops. They had set the ark in the temple with their idol, Dagon, and it started falling repeatedly. So, they decided to run a test to see whether this was supernatural or just a coincidence. So they took two mother cows with calves and strapped them to the wagon holding the ark. They knew that it would go against the mother cows’ nature to leave the baby calves, so it would have to be Israel’s God who was leading them if they went back to the land of Israel. They penned up the calves and then sent the mother cows on their way. To their great surprise, the cows went straight to the land of God’s people, never leaving the path once!

See, something happened when the Philistines strapped those cows to the ark. It wasn’t natural for them to go against their nature and leave their babies. When they loaded the ark on that wagon, the glory of God went through the wood and hit those cows. Suddenly, they started leaving behind what they thought they could never walk away from. It was against their flesh, but that’s what the presence of God can do.

You may have natural tendencies. The world entices us with the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, and you may think you cannot get out of the sinful lifestyle you are in. But with God’s power, you can get out of that misery. You just have to get full of His presence and make up your mind to stay on the straight path. But when His presence overtakes you, He will turn you away from what your flesh wants. And when He changes your path, you will have joy and peace. You will feel alive again.

The presence of God made those cows voluntarily walk a supernatural walk. They went the straight way, the opposite of their desires, wills, and wants. You straighten up when Jesus gets in your heart and wagon. “If any man is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things pass away and behold all things become new.” (2 Corinthians 5:17). God wants to bless you and use your life for something greater than lust, addiction, popularity, money, or success. His presence is stronger than mental illness, depression, or anxiety. He can make dead dreams come alive again. The ark of His presence can come back into your life. You just have to be willing to surrender to Him.
