The Strategy For Victory

“Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you, and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you.” Isaiah 43:1-2

Did you know God wants you to have a fearless and conquering spirit? In Joshua 11, God said to Joshua, “Do not be afraid because of them. For tomorrow, about this time, I will deliver all of them slain before Israel.” And God’s words held, and the enemy fell. Even though Joshua was a brilliant leader and strategist, he struggled with fear. However, in order to fulfill the assignment that God had for his life, Joshua could not allow fear to dominate him. God told him to “fear not” four times in that one chapter because fear could have paralyzed him, keeping him and the people of Israel from the promised land.

Joshua had wandered in the wilderness for 40 years, and then suddenly, everything changed. It was time for a new season. It seemed that the tides were turning, but Joshua had to have the courage to step out into new territory. When the Israelites were ready to camp across the Jordan River, it was in flood season. Doesn’t it often seem like right before God is about to do something new and great in your life, there comes a flood? Right before a loved one gets saved, you will see opposition. Just before your business experiences a breakthrough, you will see problems arise. Before you get promoted, you will often experience hard situations.

Right before the Israelites were about to cross into the promised land, they had to face the flood. And Joshua 3 says, “Now the Jordan is at flood stage all during harvest. Yet as soon as the priests who carried the ark reached the Jordan and their feet touched the water’s edge, the water from upstream stopped flowing. It piled up in a heap…and all of Israel crossed over on dry land.” Joshua told the people that this exact miracle would happen if they had the faith to step into the water.

God may have a miracle waiting for you if you would just take a step out in faith. As soon as their feet touched the water’s edge, the flood waters receded. What you think is impossible is not impossible for God. The enemy wants you to stay right where you are and never cross over to possess God’s blessings. Never be held back by fear. Be led forward by faith because God Himself goes before you to pave the way.
