The Person And The Principles
“Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks.” John 4:23
Many people know the person of Jesus, but never learn the principles He taught. They’re saved, yet they struggle in relationships, in finances, and in peace because they lack the wisdom found in God’s Word.
Knowing Jesus as Savior will get you to Heaven, but it’s applying His principles that brings victory and joy to your life on earth.
The Bible is filled with systems and strategies for living well. You can be spiritually sincere yet still fail in marriage or business if you do not apply the practical wisdom of scripture. Salvation changes your heart, but the renewing of your mind is what transforms your life. Romans 12:2 reminds us not to conform to the world’s patterns but to be transformed by thinking differently and by aligning our thoughts with God’s Word.
Some people are heart-led. They love worship, they feel God’s presence, and they are emotionally connected to Him. But feelings alone will not build a strong foundation. Others are mind-led. They analyze and study but do not embrace the humility and power of worship. The key is balance. When your heart worships and your mind is filled with God’s wisdom, you become a powerful force the enemy cannot defeat.
You do not wake up one day with spiritual understanding. It must be pursued. You cannot make withdrawals of wisdom if you haven’t made deposits. If you fill your mind with truth, love, and God’s promises, those will flow out in your time of need. But if your mind is filled with gossip, fear, or filth, that is what will surface under pressure. You are either a container of treasure or a container of trash. What you feed your heart and mind will eventually show up in your words, your actions, and your decisions. Make it your goal to fill your mind with the Word of God and worship Him in spirit and in truth.
Today, choose both the person and the principles. Love Jesus, but also learn from Him. Fill your heart with praise and your mind with truth. That combination will change everything.
