Speak Life

“Death and life are in the power of your tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.” Proverbs 18:21

Words are powerful. The Bible tells us in Proverbs 18:21, “Death and life are in the power of your tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.” What you say shapes your destiny. Your words are not just sounds. They have creative power.

Just like a rudder steers a ship, your tongue directs the course of your life.

If you speak negative words, your life will drift into discouragement and defeat. But if you speak life, faith, and blessings, your life will move toward success and victory.

Joel 3:10 encourages us to declare strength even in weakness: “Let the weak say, ‘I am strong.’” This is not pretending, but choosing faith-filled words that align with God’s promises. Speak what you expect to see, not what your current circumstances say. Focus your conversation on what God has already done and the blessings that are on their way to you. Begin praising God now for the fruits of your lips, just as Hosea 14:2 says, “I create the fruit of your lips.” God works through your words to bring about the reality you declare.

It’s time to stop complaining and speaking negatively. Complaints only bring more trouble and confusion. Instead, choose to be a “blessing speaker.” Your words can uplift, encourage, and shift atmospheres. If you catch yourself complaining, ask God to help you see His goodness and give thanks even in difficult moments. Negative talk is like a poison to your spirit.

Faith grows when you hear God’s voice, and the best way to hear Him is by reading the Bible. Don’t worry if you don’t understand every part; just keep reading. The Word will begin to speak to you, sometimes suddenly revealing powerful promises like, “No weapon formed against you shall prosper.” Let the Word sink deep and guide your heart. Make a commitment to dedicate time each day, 15 to 20 minutes to read the Bible without distractions. Start with a Psalm or a Proverb and keep going. In 30 days, you’ll see a transformation in your outlook, attitude, and family life. The wisdom of God is ready to guide you. Just speak His life-giving words and watch the blessings start pouring in.
