Something Better Than Heaven

“I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live.” Deuteronomy 30:19

Close your eyes for a moment and let your heart wander toward home. Imagine a world with no war, no death, no sorrow. No funeral homes, no jail cells, no sirens in the night. No depression, no anxiety, no addictions, no fear. No lies or deception, no loneliness or heartbreak, no tears. No diagnosis, no pain, no disease. All the things that crush you here will be gone there. God Himself will wipe every tear from your eyes, and the former things will pass away.

Now let your imagination stretch even further. Eyes have not seen what God has prepared. Think of colors richer than any sunset you have known, gardens without a hint of decay, light that needs no lamp. Think of music that fills the air with perfect harmony, voices and instruments tuned to praise without end. Think of a city prepared by God, pure and beautiful, secure and open to all whose names are written in the Book of Life. Heaven will be wonderful. Your heart was made for that world.

Yet there is something even better than the streets of gold and the songs of angels. It is the joy of seeing your family there with you. It is knowing that as you followed Jesus, you left clear footprints for your children. Faith is personal, yet it is never private. Your steps preach. Your prayers plant seeds.

Your obedience cuts a path through the noise of this world and points the ones you love toward home.

So choose life today. Choose blessing over curse. Choose a soft heart over stubborn pride. Open the Bible in your house. Pray with your family. Talk about eternity at the table. Bring your questions and your burdens to Jesus and keep walking. The world is loud, but the Spirit is faithful. Heaven is real, and Jesus is ready to lead you there.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, I choose life. Write my name in Your Book of Life, and steady my steps each day. Let my faith leave footprints that my children can follow. Heal what is broken in our home. Guard us from deception, and fill our minds with the hope of Heaven. Keep us close to You until we see You face to face. Amen.
