See Yourself There
“In your strength I can crush an army; with my God I can scale any wall.” Psalms 18:29
How important is it to be able to see something before you achieve it? If someone offered you one thousand dollars to assemble a one-hundred-piece puzzle in ten minutes, some of you might accept the challenge. But what if you were told you could not see the picture on the box? That would change everything. Without a vision, you would not know how to put the pieces together.
If you do not have a clear picture of where you want to go and what you want to do in life, you will never get there.
You must rise above the current images in your mind. You need to see a better picture of your future.
Picture yourself free, delivered, elevated, successful, and prosperous. As you spend time with God in His Word and in prayer, He will begin to reveal new images of a life you have not yet experienced. As your mind is renewed through God's Word, your faith will grow. You will begin to think greater thoughts, such as, "Why not me?" "Why can’t I do it?" "With God, I can do all things."
Gerald Ford is the only United States President in history who was not elected to any office other than Congressman. He was elected in Michigan and then became Speaker of the House. After the Vice President was removed, Ford was appointed. Then, when President Nixon was impeached, Ford became the President. In an interview, someone asked him, "How did you adjust so quickly from being a Congressman to the President of the United States?" Ford replied, "I had been to many meetings in the White House. I got used to seeing myself there. It did not intimidate me. I felt comfortable there."
Who and what you surround yourself with matters. If you can imagine it and see yourself in that world, that is the first step toward getting there. There was a small Russian pastor who led a church of about two hundred fifty people. One day, he attended John Osteen’s conference. After seeing ten thousand people and all that was happening there, he caught a new vision. He returned home and purchased thousands of television screens and VCRs. He went into many communist cities and placed the screens in city halls so people could hear the gospel. He began to win entire cities because he saw more than just maintaining a small congregation. God wants to open your eyes and expand your vision to the possibilities of greater things. You are capable of more. You just have to see yourself there.
