Resurrection Power

“I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which He has called you, the riches of His glorious inheritance in His holy people, and His incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength He exerted when He raised Christ from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. And God placed all things under His feet…” Ephesians 1:18-22

When Jesus rose from the dead, sin's power over you was broken. Because Jesus was resurrected and defeated the grave, you now have resurrection power. You have the power of the Holy Spirit, and no “grave” of sin can hold you down. Alcoholism, addiction, shame, self-hatred, eating disorders, and suicidal thoughts all have to bow down to the name of Jesus. There is no “grave” that can hold you. The enemy may have been telling you that this habit or destructive pattern is going to be your ending, but the devil is a liar! He knows that Jesus has already won. All you have to do is receive God’s forgiveness, and you will experience His deliverance. Swallow your pride or your unbelief and give your life over to Jesus.

If you have backslidden and wandered far from God, come home.

The father in the prodigal son story was not angry to see the rebellious son. He had been watching and waiting for him to come home. When he saw him, he ran to meet him, hugged him, and restored him as a member of his household. He had him remove his old ratty clothes and replace them with new beautiful ones. He even threw a huge party to celebrate his homecoming. Luke 15:10 tells us, “There is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.” When someone comes back to God, a party is thrown in Heaven. God wants to see you living your best life and He knows your best life is one lived with Him.

Psalms 16:11 says, “You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.” If you want to live a life full of joy and freedom, follow the path to Jesus.
