Power Follows Passion

"To whom also He shewed Himself alive after His passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God." Acts 1:3 (KJV)

The resurrection of Jesus is the greatest display of power in human history. Acts 1:3 tells us something remarkable: “After His passion, He showed Himself alive.” The scripture carefully notes the order. First, passion. Then, power. The passion, the struggle, the suffering, and the intensity of purpose came before the resurrection power was displayed.

I love what this verse teaches us about God’s power today. When Jesus rose from the grave, He left the grave clothes behind. He refused to stay wrapped in what once bound Him. He proved that God’s power is not compatible with limitations, restrictions, or bondage. And He didn’t just rise; He demonstrated that His body, the Church, should not be bound by grave clothes either.

Think about Lazarus. Jesus didn’t just raise him from the dead; He said, “Loose him, and let him go.” Resurrection power is meant to be released, not hidden or restricted. When you are set free, you are called to go share what God has done.

Power follows passion. Wherever God finds someone willing to demonstrate passion—wherever He sees fervent faith, fervent prayer, and fervent dedication—His power will always follow. We see this in the lives of Moses, David, the Apostle Paul, and Peter. Passion creates the conditions for the supernatural to manifest. Jesus’ passion on the cross unlocked the ultimate power of resurrection, and the same principle applies to your life.

What does this mean for us today? It means that the breakthroughs, miracles, and provision you are waiting for will come as you passionately pursue God’s will. Passion in prayer, obedience, worship, and service are the keys that release God’s power.

Power is not passive. It is not automatic. It follows passion. If you are willing to engage with God fully, to pour your heart out, and to live with intensity for His Kingdom, His power will manifest in your life. Healing, provision, restoration, and breakthrough are ready to be unlocked. The question is: are you willing to live passionately enough to see it happen?

Prayer: Father, help me to pursue You with passion in every part of my life. Let my devotion, zeal, and faith unlock Your power to heal, provide, and break through. I surrender my heart to You so Your Spirit can move mightily through me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
